This year, the family-run SEMIN company established in 1838 by Jean-Louis Semin is celebrating its 180 years in business. In 1980 Philippe Semin took over management of the business which back then had only 7 members of staff. SEMIN manufactures adhesives, fillers, inspection panels, tapes, and frames for plasterers, tilers and painters. In 1998 Semin set up a production plant at Espira de l’Agly in the Pyrenees. In 2008 a production plant and training centre were created in Amblainville, as well as a factory in Russia, in a Moscow suburb. In 2011, Semin set up a factory in Amblainville to manufacture metal frames; the same year saw the creation of a subsidiary in Benjaia (Algeria). In 2012 Semin acquired the inspection hatch manufacturer RUG in Germany and the Czech Republic. In 2015 Semin took over Leroux in Tours, a manufacturer of extended frames and classic frames. In 2015, a drywall tape and armoured tape factory was created: BCN INTERNATIONAL in Barcelona, which backed up the Semin set of factories
